Winnekenni Castle 

is available for private rental events from mid-morning to 11pm, during late-April thru mid-Dec.. (Closed during Winter).

Capacity: Great Hall (lower floor) - 100 row-seated guests, or approx.70-80 banquet-seated guests.

Over-looking Balcony (upper floor) can be used to accommodate 30-50 additional guests (this option, however, requires advance special arrangements/fees).

 

A Few Very Important Facts:

The Castle has central-heat but NO air-conditioning.

The lawn area surrounding the Castle is public space & is often host to picnics and recreationers; such visitors, however, generally respect private Castle functions.

A NO-ALCOHOL Policy is strictly enforced-no exceptions.

NO Smoking is allowed inside the Castle.

A $75-surcharge for heat applies to Nov.& Dec.Rentals.

 

How to Proceed:

If you wish to rent the Castle, you must speak with a Foundation Representative (ph.# below) regarding plans & facility availability.  Request rental contract &  return with your 50% rental fee deposit and a $100.-- damages deposit in order to reserve your date.

This damage-dep. is in addition to the rental fee.

Both deposits are NON-Refundable if you CANCEL

(if no damages occur to the Castle & its property during your tenure, your damage deposit will be returned to you by mail within 30-days following your event. A bill will be issued for damages exceeding the deposit amount).

Additional Information:

The Castle and Grounds offer many options with regard to the staging of your celebration.  The Castle's Great Hall, Outer Deck and Grounds are all available for your use.  As the Castle interior yields an intimate setting, it is frequently used as a Wedding Chapel, often followed by an outdoor tent-reception on the Grounds.  Ceremonies are also held both on the Deck and on the Grounds as the Castle lends a picturesque backdrop/setting, while its interior serves as a gathering spot, receiving room or banquet area.  Please visit the Castle to determine how the facility might best meet your event needs.

 

Our Rental Rates are Very Affordable:

Prime-Time Rates (Fri., Sat., Sun. & All Holidays):

$150.-- per Hour

there is a 2- Hour Minimum Booking

Off-Peak Rates (Monday thru Thursday-all non-holiday)

up to 4- Hours $175.—(flat rate)

All time beyond 5paid hours is charged at discount rate of $75. per hour to be arranged with staff & paid up-front.

(Premises must be vacated by 11pm, incl. all belongings.)

Rental Notes: 

Rentals allow for ONE Hour of Set-Up and ONE Hour of Break-Down time.  Rental charges will apply to any occupancy beyond the contract terms.

Wedding Rentals offer 45-minutes of Free rehearsal time, subject to Castle & Staff schedules, date+time to be arranged & agreed upon approximately 10-days prior to your event; it is up to you to initiate this scheduling.  (You must RENT your Rehearsal Date if you require advance security of a particular date/time).

 

FULL Rental fee/balance is DUE 90-days prior to your event and is NON-Refundable from that point.

ALL set-up, decorating, and activity plans must be fully disclosed & approved by the Caretaker or Staff. (Notes: Holes shall not be made in any surface and the use of Tape is not permitted, as it damages finishes.  Open-flame Candles are not permitted, shielding globes must be used --no exceptions).

Deliveries/Pick-ups must be coordinated with the Caretaker's/Castle's schedules (no storage is available).

 

Winnekenni Castle and Property

The Castle and its amenities provide affordable elegance and simplicity while enabling you to put personal touches on your special occasion ranging from the subtle to the extravagant.  The Foundation imposes no restrictions on your choices regarding Event-Planners, Caterers, Florists, Photographers, Equipment Suppliers., Musicians /Entertainers, etc…We offer an enchanting setting where you can create your own "dream-come-true!" 

 

Equipment:

The Castle has tables and chairs for 130 guests.  Our Caretaker will set up our furniture for you inside the Castle, and/or on the Outer-Deck in good weather.  Our furniture is not permitted out on the lawn.  You may privately rent furnishings for this purpose, however, the Castle is unable to assume responsibility for their care, safety or set-up. Castle tables require you to furnish/use tablecloths & heat-shielding trivets.

 

A Baby-Grand Piano graces the Great Hall.

You are permitted to contract a professional musician to play the Piano during your event. The Piano shall otherwise remain covered & locked.  Our Piano is tuned annually. Additional tuning expenses (by our approved tuner only --should a tuning be desired) will be the responsibility of the renter.  To preserve its tune, the Piano shall not be moved or relocated.

 

Kitchen Facilities (limited) are available for your use:  Our kitchen provides space for storing, heating chilling & washing; a range and refrigerator are available.  You / your Caterer will need to furnish all other appliances, utensils & supplies as needed.

 

Caterers: are required to contact & speak with our Caretaker about the facility & their plans, and an advance site-visit will be mandatory. You will have a nicer result if your caterer is fully-prepared.

About our Caretaker:

 

The Caretaker is our facility's groundskeeper, custodian, property supervisor & protector. While not an event-planner or attendant, he is available prior to your event for related schedulings, info., advice, and during your event for questions or emergencies. He will help establish traffic flow/parking scheme
